In this seminar, I will overview the recent advances in understanding the generic properties of elastic high-energy proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions. The statisticallysignificant differences between the latter have recently been identified and characterised in the TeV energy range leading to the discovery of the Odderon particle. I will discuss some basics of the model-independent techniques that have led to this discovery.
